Project Planning Engineer

Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and review project schedules to ensure efficient planning and workload distribution.
Collect and analyze project data to generate accurate status reports.
Evaluate existing planning and scheduling processes, recommending improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
Monitor schedule adherence, identifying deviations and investigating root causes of delays.
Work closely with project managers and engineers to track project progress and resolve scheduling conflicts.
Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers to align schedules and planning efforts.
Prepare and present project updates in internal meetings.
Assist in the preparation of project schedules for tender submissions.
Support change management processes by assisting in schedule modifications and impact assessments.
Apply schedule forecasting techniques and develop detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for projects.

Requirements:

Strong problem-solving abilities with a structured and analytical approach.
Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presentations.
Solid understanding of technical engineering principles.
Methodical and detail-oriented approach to planning and scheduling.
Proficiency in relevant planning and scheduling software, including MS Project and Primavera P6.
Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, summing functions, and graphing techniques.
Ability to manage stress and work effectively under pressure.
Strong teamwork skills while also being able to work independently.
2+ to 14 years of experience in project planning (experience in heavy infrastructure or construction is a plus).
Competency in applying Critical Path Method (CPM) techniques to develop detailed project networks and schedules.
